Fire, Bli Bli: Police were called to a fire at a residence on Camp Flat Road at Bli Bli last night. Police received a call around 7.20pm and upon arrival the house was well ablaze. All the occupants of the house, including a man, woman and two children, escaped from the fire. The 37-year-old man is believed to have suffered moderate burns and was initially taken to Nambour Hospital, before being taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital for further treatment. The 36-year-old woman received some burns and was taken to Nambour Hospital. The children were not injured. Police investigations into the cause of the fire are continuing.
Traffic crash, Hamilton Island: A 29-year-old woman was seriously injured after a motorised golf cart crash at Hamilton Island last night. Around 6pm the woman was a passenger in the cart when it crashed on the Great Northern Highway. The 25-year-old man driving the cart was not seriously injured. The woman was initially taken to Mackay Hospital then transferred to Townsville Hospital for further treatment.
Drug charges, Minden: Police have charged a 28-year-old man with several drug related offences after executing a search warrant at a residence at Minden yesterday. Around midday police allegedly located a number of Cannabis plants and other drug paraphernalia at the Green Valley Road residence. The Minden man was charged with produce dangerous drug, possess dangerous drug, possess utensil, possess things used in connection with production of dangerous drug and unlawful stealing of electricity. He is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court today.
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle charge, Bundamba: Police have charged a 24-year-old man after a traffic incident at Bundamba last night. Around 5.30pm police allegedly noticed a car drive through a stop sign, then travel across several lanes of traffic causing other cars to take evasive action. Police followed the vehicle when the car allegedly spun its wheels. Police attempted to intercept the car but it allegedly sped away. Police later located the man on River Road and arrested him. He has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and driving unlicensed. He is due to face Ipswich Magistrates Court on November 20.
