Fatal crash, Millaa Millaa

An off-duty police officer located a crashed vehicle containing a deceased male driver at Millaa Millaa in far north Queensland this afternoon.

The driver is believed to be a 48-year-old man who has been missing from Malanda since January 23.

His vehicle was located down a steep embankment along Millaa Millaa Malanda Road about 2pm and a crane was required to extract the car from the scene.

The forensic crash unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
