Crash, Lawnton: The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious crash which occurred on Gympie Road at Lawnton last night. It is believed a vehicle travelling southbound on Gympie Road has lost control just after crossing the Pine River Bridge. The vehicle slid across the median strip, collided with a steel light pole, and continued to slide onto the northbound lanes before connecting with a another vehicle. The northbound lanes of Gympie Road were completely blocked as a result of the crash. The 18-year-old male driver and the front passenger of the first vehicle were seriously injured and a rear passenger, a 16-year-old boy, suffered minor injuries. The 27-year-old female driver of the second vehicle escaped with only minor injuries. All four people were transported to the RBH.

Drink drive charge, Bowen Hills: A 68-year-old man has been charged with driving under the influence after allegedly blowing 0.297% following a minor single vehicle crash on Abbotsford Road at Bowen Hills about 3.45pm yesterday. A 53-year-old female passenger sustained a minor head injury and the male driver was uninjured. The man was also charged with unlicensed driving and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on July 31.
