Fatal traffic crash, Surat (near Roma): Police are investigating a single vehicle rollover that resulted in the death of 65-year-old woman around 12.50 yesterday afternoon. It is believed the vehicle was travelling west along Yuleba-Surat Road approximately 22km east of Surat when the driver lost control. This resulted in the woman, who was the rear passenger, to be thrown from the vehicle. She died at the scene. The male driver and female front passenger sustained minor injuries and were treated at the Surat Hospital before being released. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Fatal traffic crash, Woodford: Police attended a two vehicle crash on the D'Aguilar Highway at Post Office Creek yesterday afternoon. Around 12.47pm a vehicle has veered onto the wrong side of the road before colliding head-on with a second vehicle. Both the driver and passenger of the second vehicle were entrapped before being extricated by Queensland Fire and Rescue Service. The male driver of the first vehicle was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Woman’s Hospital suffering serious internal injuries but died a short time later. The female passenger of this vehicle was transported to the Caboolture District Hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries.
Suspicious death, West End: Police are investigating the death of a 53-year-old man at West End last night. The victim suffered major injuries following an altercation that occurred around 6pm at the corner of Russell and Manning streets. He died at the scene. A 17-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy are assisting police with their inquiries.
