Attempted armed robbery charge, Woodridge

A 23-year-old man of no fixed address will appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today following a foiled attempted armed robbery at a Foodworks store in Ewing Road, Woodridge overnight.

About 11.45pm the man allegedly entered the store and approached the counter with a grocery item before threatening the male cashier with a pair of scissors and demanding money.

The cashier did not comply with the demand for money and the man left the store empty handed.

The 23-year-old man has been charged with one count of attempted armed robbery.
