Armed robbery, 7-11 Fortitude Valley: Police are looking for a man after an armed robbery at a convenience store in Fortitude Valley this morning. Around 5.05am a man entered the 7/11 convenience store on Brunswick Street, near the intersection of McLachlan Street in Fortitude Valley. The man walked to the back of the store to obtain a drink and proceeded to the counter where he produced a large knife and threatened the employee demanding cash from the register. The man left the store with a sum of cash and was last seen in McLachlan Street, heading towards James Street. The man is described as being in his early twenties and was wearing a black short sleeve shirt, black jeans and white shoes. Anyone who may have seen this man or who has information which could assist police with their investigations is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Wilful damage, Bundamba: Police are investigating an incident that occurred on a water pipeline construction site at Bundamba yesterday, where an excavator was damaged. Between 6am and 6pm a person or unknown people have entered the construction site located off Barclay Street and started a large excavator. It is believed that the excavator has then been driven 100 metres along a dirt track where it has been used to cause damage to a second excavator. During the incident the cabin of the second excavator has been detached from the remainder of the machine. Damage to the rented machines is estimated to be valued around $350,000 and information suggests that the machine which had its cabin removed is beyond repair. Public assistance sought, Fortitude Valley assault: Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault of a 35-year-old woman in Fortitude Valley on April 23. The assault occurred between 7am and 9am near Brunswick and Wickham streets outside the Mission Cafe. It is believed a man and woman were walking together and have been seen arguing as they walked through Chopsticks Arcade. The man is then believed to have assaulted the woman, who was transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital. The man is described as being approximately 30 years of age, Caucasian, 180cm, proportionate build with shoulder length brown hair. He was wearing joggers, knee length grey shorts, a grey tracksuit with a hooded jumper under a dark coloured jacket which was unzipped.
