Fatal, Cairns: A 36-year-old moped rider was killed last night after colliding with a utility at Freshwater, Cairns. Initial investigations suggest the Kuranda man was travelling north when he collided with the vehicle travelling in the opposite direction on Lower Freshwater Road about 7.30pm. He died at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was not injured. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
