Afternoon Round-Up
Robbery, Forest Lake: Police are appealing for witnesses after an alleged robbery at Forest Lake yesterday. Around 10pm a 27 year-old man was standing at a bus stop on Forest Lake Boulevard when he was approached by five men. It is alleged that two of the men demanded money and the man’s backpack. The man refused and it is alleged the two men then assaulted him, stole his money and then ran away. The 27-year-old man suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident. The men are described as being about 180 -185cm tall, slim build with short dark hair and olive complexion. Break and enter, Mackay: Police are investigating the break and enter of the Mackay Police Citizens Youth Club on Norris Road. Around 2.30am a local security company attended an alarm at the premises. The front door of the club had been smashed and a number of offices and the canteen had been broken into. Police are investigating.
Grievous bodily harm, Brisbane City: Police are appealing for witnesses in relation to an incident that occurred on Saturday, February 20, at the Victory Hotel on Edward Street, Brisbane. Around 1.30am a 31-year-old woman was standing in the beer garden when she was struck in the leg by shards of glass. The woman suffered deep lacerations to her lower leg and was taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital where she required surgery. Initial investigations suggest that a man standing in the beer garden at the time was seen throwing an empty beer glass towards the bar area where the woman was standing. Police have released images of three men who they believe may be able to assist them with their inquiry.
