Break and enter charges, Labrador

A 17-year-old man has been charged with eight counts of break and enter following an alleged crime spree which came to an abrupt end on May 5. The spree allegedly occurred over the past few days in the Labrador area.

About 4.40am yesterday police attempted to intercept the man at Gardiners Place, Southport after he allegedly threatened a security guard at the Treasure Island Caravan Park with a knife.

The man fled in an alleged stolen vehicle and was located a short distance away with the assistance of a police dog.

He has further been charged with three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and unlawfully on premises as well as two counts each of obstruct police and assault.

He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today.
