Afternoon Round-up, South Eastern Region

Drug charges, Wongawallan: Police located an elaborate clandestine laboratory at an Oxenford – Tamborine Road premise today. About 6am Gold Coast detectives executed a warrant on the home and allegedly located the clandestine laboratory and a quantity of drugs. A 39-year-old man has been charged with one count each of produce drugs, supply drugs, possess drug (major), possess instructions and possess things used in the commission of an offence. The man is due to face Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Armed robbery charge, Tugun: An 18-year-old man will face Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow charged with armed robbery following the alleged armed robbery of the Kirra Beach Bottle Shop on April 18. The man was located in New South Wales and Gold Coast detectives extradited him to Queensland today.

Armed robbery, Mudgeeraba: Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen an armed robbery occur at the intersection of Old Coach Road, Mudgeeraba yesterday. About 2pm a man driving a maroon Toyota sedan stopped and approached two people before demanding their wallets. When they refused to hand over their wallets the man threatened them with what is believed to be a knuckle duster/knife. One of the youth handed over a sum of cash. Another person was slapped when he attempted to assist. The man is described as being approximately 19-years-old, muscular build, approximately 183cm tall, short light brown hair with tanned Caucasian skin. He was wearing dark blue tracksuit pants with no shirt or shoes. The man fled the area leaving the vehicle behind.
