Double fatality - Torquay, Hervey Bay: Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a crash that claimed the lives of two people in Torquay, Hervey Bay overnight. Around 11.20pm, the crash involving four vehicles occurred on the Esplanade at Torquay. A female and male died as a result of the incident. Initial reports suggest that a vehicle was observed speeding in the area a short time before the incident occurred. A number of people from the vehicles were transported to the Hervey Bay Hospital for treatment. Police from the Forensic Crash Unit will investigate. A man in his twenties is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
