Armed robbery charges, Ipswich: Police have charged a 23-year-old Inala man after an incident that occurred in Ipswich yesterday afternoon. Around 4.30 a man entered the Ipswich City Motel in Warwick Road, Ipswich and allegedly produced a knife. It is alleged that the man demanded cash from an employee and left empty handed. Officers located him a short time later at a Churchill address and he has been charged with one count of attempted armed robbery. The man has also been charged in relation to an alleged armed robbery that occurred at a service station on Hunter Street, Brassall around 5.15am on April 26. Bail was opposed and the man will appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court today. A 26-year-old man who was also located at the Churchill address has been issued with a notice to appear for driving related offences.

Weapon charge, Mundubbera: A 59-year-old man has been charged after an incident at a video store in Mundubbera yesterday. Around 5.35pm the man was in a video store on Lyon Street, Mundubbera when an altercation allegedly occurred that involved him and the manager. The man left the store and allegedly returned with a firearm. The manager left the shop and police located the man a short time later. He has been charged with one count each of going armed so as to cause fear, unlicensed possession of a weapon, driving under the influence of liquor and driving whilst disqualified. The man remains in custody and will appear in Maryborough Magistrates Court today.
