Fatal traffic crash, Moranbah; ATM robbery, Airlie Beach;Traffic crash, CarraraFatal traffic crash, Moranbah: Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash at Moranbah this afternoon. Around 1.50pm police were notified of a two vehicle crash between a car and a motorcycle at the intersection of Goonyella Road and Mills Avenue. A male riding the motorcycle died at the scene, while the woman driving the sedan was not injured. Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
ATM robbery, Airlie Beach: Police are investigating an ATM robbery at Airlie Beach this morning. Around 9.30am entry has been gained to a market place on Waterson Way, once inside the offenders have broken into the ATM and stolen a quantity of cash. Police are asking for anyone who may have information about suspicious activity in the area at the time to call local police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Traffic crash, Carrara: Around 11am this morning there was a two vehicle crash in Pappas Way at Carrara. As a result of the crash one vehicle has careened across a footpath and crashed into a shop in a local shopping centre. A 77-year-old Carrara woman, the driver of the vehicle, received minor injuries and was taken to Gold Coast Hospital. Three people in the shop at the time were injured. A 55-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were taken to Gold Coast Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while a 19-year-old woman was treated at the scene by QAS. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
