Armed robbery, Alexandra Headland - Fatal traffic incident, Sarina - House fire, Rathdowney
Armed robbery, Alexandra Headland: Police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store in Alexandra Headland last night. About 8.15pm, two males armed with knives entered the Alex Head Convenience Store on the corner of Alexander Parade and Pacific Terrace. One of the males then climbed the counter and demanded money. After obtaining a sum of money and tobacco, the offenders left the store and ran along Pacific Terrace. The first offender is described as 178cm with a tanned complexion and proportionate build. The second offender is described as Caucasian in appearance, 174cm, with a fair complexion and proportionate build. Both were wearing dark clothing. One was wearing a black balaclava and the other was wearing a pink cloth over his face.

Police are conducting a homicide investigation after the death of a critically injured man this afternoon.

Serious assault arrest, Morayfield - Police induction, Chandler
Serious assault arrest, Morayfield: A 34-year-old Morayfield man will appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court today charged with serious assault, going armed to cause fear and threatening violence. This follows an incident at an address in Morayfield last night. About 11.55pm, a man armed with two knives allegedly gained entry to a house in Jonkers Court. Police set up a cordon and negotiated with the man. No one, including the two female occupants of the house, was injured. Police arrested a man at the scene.

Robbery, Gympie: Police are investigating last night’s robbery of the United Service Station on Geordie Road, Gympie. About 7.50pm yesterday a man approached the console operator from behind in the drive-way of the service station. The offender forced the operator into the office and made him open the safe. The offender has instructed the console operator to stay in the office for 10 minutes then left the shop with a sum of money. The offender was wearing a dark shirt, long pants, a dark beanie partially covering his face and plastic surgical gloves

Suspicious fire, Yeerongpilly - Armed robbery, Loganlea - Missing bushwalker, Wallangarra
Suspicious fire, Yeerongpilly: Scientific officers will today continue investigations into a fire in Whylie Street. About 12.30pm yesterday police and fire officers were called to a fire in an unoccupied building. The fire was quickly extinguished however the building suffered extensive damage. Fire officers also located a fire in a clothing bin a short distance from the building fire upon their arrival. The cause of a fire is not yet known.

Police have arrested a 46-year-old Stanthorpe man after he allegedly assaulted two people staying with him last night.

ATM robbed, Riverhills
Police are investigating this morning’s robbery of a Bank of Queensland ATM at the Bogong Street Shops, Riverhills.

Incidents at Palm Island
Police are investigating two separate incidents at Palm Island overnight.

Armed person arrest, Bowen Hills - Suspicious fire, Bundaberg North State High School
Armed person arrest, Bowen Hills: A 35-year-old man from New Farm will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow morning charged with a number of assault-related offences following an incident last night at Bowen Hills. About 6.05pm police attended a neighbourhood disturbance at a residence on the corner of Cowlishaw and Down Streets, Bowen Hills. While police were speaking with neighbours, it is alleged that a man appeared from next door, produced a knife and threatened the two officers. Police told the man to drop the knife but he ran off. The area was cordoned off and the man was soon located and arrested. He was charged with serious assault, going armed in public to cause fear and obstructing police and was remanded in custody.

Pursuit arrest, Toowoomba - Drugs arrests, Hervey Bay
Pursuit arrest, Toowoomba: A 20-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving and other offences following an incident in Toowoomba overnight. About 8pm, information was received that the driver of a vehicle had allegedly threatened an employee and driven away from Freedom Fuels on the Warrego Highway without paying for fuel and a drink. Police were advised the car had been sighted in James Street and again near the intersection of O’Mara’s Road and the Warrego Highway at Charlton. The car allegedly sped off when police arrived. Police then followed the vehicle along O’Mara’s Road until it stopped. Police approached the vehicle on foot, however the vehicle allegedly sped off. Police followed the vehicle and apprehended the driver on Wellcamp Westbrook Road. The 20-year-old was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, assault, unlicensed driving and unlawfully taking away of goods (shop stealing). He was bailed and will appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on April 18.

Central Region police have appealed for motorists to slow down and take care on the roads over the Easter holiday period.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal single vehicle accident at Stanthorpe overnight.

Armed Robbery arrest, Nerang - Fatal accident, Stanthorpe - Murgon Fires update
Armed Robbery arrest, Nerang: A 39-year-old man will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on March 26 charged with armed robbery. The arrest follows an incident around 9.30 last night at the Hinterland Pharmacy at Nerang. The man is alleged to have entered the store and passed a note to a cashier stating he was armed and demanding drugs be handed over. The cashier called for help and the man is alleged to have run from the store and been apprehended by a security officer.

Police have released comfits of two men who attacked a woman in a park at Ormiston early last Sunday morning.

Bush fires, Murgon - Serious assault police, arrest, Kingston - Arson, Motor vehicle, Newmarket - Officers to deliver eggs, City
Bush fires, Murgon: Emergency personnel continue their third day of fighting a serious bush fire in the Murgon area today. By yesterday morning approximately 400 Hectares had been burnt out and posed serious risk to a number of homes and a piggery. An emergency situation was declared between Eisenmongers Road, Gayndah Rd, Boat Mountain Road and Crounthorpe Road. Around 9pm last night the fire broke through the fire break and the hot and dry conditions with strong winds flared the fire which was burning towards Blackburns Road. Houses along that road were evacuated. Additional equipment was brought in and further breaks were established and foam laid down. All properties now safe however the fire is still burning out of control hillside. Relief emergency service personnel and appliances will be brought to the area today.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw a blue/grey Holden sedan being driven in the vicinity of Wynnum Road, Tingalpa, on Monday night to come forward.

Armed Robbery, Coorparoo - Attempted murder arrest, Townsville - Unlawful use arrest, Brisbane
Armed Robbery, Coorparoo: Police are currently investigating the armed robbery of the Shell Express Service Station on Old Cleveland Road overnight. Around 12.05am a male approached the attendant, grabbed him from behind, put a knife to his throat and demanded money. A second attendant who was behind the counter counting the takings has thrown the money on the counter towards the offender. The male grabbed the money and left on foot towards Welling Street. The man is described as Caucasian, approximately 175cm tall; thin build with a black beard. When last seen he was wearing a blue T-shirt, blue jeans, white joggers and had a white jacket wrapped around his head.

A 38-year-old Sunnybank Hills man will appear in the Richland Magistrates Court tomorrow charged with two counts each of grievous bodily harm, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed and unlawful stalking. He is also charged with one count each of injuring animals by night and threats of violence and three counts of wilful damage.

Police are appealing for information about a suspicious fire which damaged a restaurant due to open today in Calamvale.

Police locate alleged graffiti offenders – Nerang
Police over the weekend located four boys in relation to the alleged graffiti of a number of buildings throughout the Nerang area since the beginning of the year.

Around 4.30 this morning police received information that two men had been admitted to QEII hospital with multiple injuries sustained from being attacked by a pit bull dog.

A man has died after an accident involving a bulldozer on a property near Crows Nest yesterday.

Suspicious fire, Calamvale: About 12.55am today police were advised that the restaurant Chi Chi Cuisine on Calam Road, Calamvale was ablaze. The fire caused substantial damage to the restaurant and is being treated as suspicious. A crime scene has been established and scientific officers will be examining the scene today. Neighbouring shops also sustained smoke and water damage.

Armed robbery, Highgate Hill: Police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store at Highgate Hill this morning. About 2.40am, two men wearing shirts over their heads entered the Night Owl in Gladstone Road. One man was armed with a knife and the other smashed a bottle over the counter before they both made threats and demanded money. After obtaining a sum of money, they left the store in a northerly direction. Both offenders were described as Aboriginal in appearance.

Armed robbery, Wynnum West: Police are investigating the armed robbery of a 24-year-old man as he walked along Malabar Street, Wynnum West, this morning. About 1.15am, the man was walking in a westerly direction when two males on bicycles approached him from behind. One of the males, armed with what was described as a spear gun, demanded the man’s wallet. After handing his wallet to the males, the man ran off towards Lindum train station. The first offender is described as Aboriginal in appearance, 170-173cm, with a thin build, dark complexion and curly black hair. The second offender is described as Aboriginal in appearance, 168-170cm, with a light brown complexion, medium build and black hair.

A 21-year-old man has appeared in Cleveland Magistrates Court this afternoon following the serious assault of a 46-year-old man outside a Cleveland hotel this morning.

Robbery with violence arrest, Toowoomba - Dangerous driving arrest, Townsville - Assault, Southport - Fatal accident, Loganlea
Robbery with violence arrest, Toowoomba: Three juveniles and two adult women are currently assisting police with their inquiries following a violent robbery at Annand Street, Toowoomba early this morning. About 12.15am it is alleged that a woman was assaulted near her car. The vehicle’s windscreen was smashed and property was stolen. The five offenders were located and taken to the Toowoomba watchhouse. The woman received treatment at the Toowoomba Base Hospital for minor injuries and was later released. Investigations are continuing.

Sexual assault arrest, Ayr : A 34-year-old man will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court this morning charged with assault with intent to rape and indecent assault. About 11.30pm yesterday police responded to a 000 call and apprehended the man on the Bruce Highway in Ayr as he was struggling with a 24-year-old woman. The woman suffered minor bruising. The man was arrested and remanded in custody overnight.

Around 7pm two men wearing dark hooded jumpers entered the store and demanded money at knifepoint. The 19-year-old male console operator handed over a sum of money and the two men left the store.

Clandestine lab located, Maryborough - Fatal accident on private property, Lake Cooroiba
Clandestine lab located, Maryborough: A 21-year-old man was arrested yesterday afternoon following the discovery of a clandestine laboratory at an address in Victory Street, Maryborough. He was charged with two counts of possessing a dangerous drug, cannabis and methylamphetamine, and one count of producing a dangerous drug, possessing property used in commission of a drug offence and possession of a utensil. He was bailed and will appear in the Maryborough Magistrates Court on April 19.

Death of nine-year-old boy, Inala: Police and Work Place Health and Safety officers are investigating the death of a nine-year-old boy last night at a property on Inala. About 3.15pm yesterday, the boy was playing near the gate of the property on Kimberley Street when he sustained severe head injuries. The boy was transported to the Mater Children’s Hospital where he died about 8.40pm.

Arson, Palm Island: Police have charged three juveniles with arson after fire destroyed an unoccupied house yesterday. About 11am, the alarm was raised that a house on Beach Road was on fire. Volunteer Fire Brigade and police attended however the house was completely destroyed. One 13 year-old and two 12-year-old boys will appear in the Palm Island Magistrates Court on March 16.

Wilful damage, Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, Whitsunday: Police are currently investigating a wilful damage that occurred at the Whitsunday Police station just before 1am today when male offender smashed the front door of the police station. A police officer heard the crash and went to investigate. The officer challenged the offender who allegedly ran to his vehicle, turned his lights off and drove towards the officer attempting to run over him. The offender then left, driving east on Shute Harbour Road. The man is described as between 25-30 old, solid build, fair complexion and is believed to be driving a 1976-78 model black Celica sedan.

About 9.30pm last night, police were called to a Penny Road, Gympie address following reports of a disturbance.

Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred off Narcotic Creek Road, Mareeba this morning.

Caravan fire, Hervey Bay
Caravan fire, Hervey Bay: Police are investigating a suspicious fire at the Coconut Grove Caravan Park early this morning. About 3.20am the occupant was returning to his van when he discovered a fire in the annex area. He attempted to extinguish the blaze but was unable to do so and the caravan was completely destroyed. No one was injured in the fire. Scenes of crime officers and detectives will continue investigation into the cause this morning.

Fatal accident Tully - Level crossing accident, Emerald - Clandestine labs located – Maryborough - Attempted murder arrest, Surfers Paradise
Fatal accident Tully: About 8.50pm two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision on the Bruce Highway about one kilometre south of Tully. The 26-year-old male driver of one vehicle has been airlifted to Townsville hospital in a critical but stable condition. The 27-year-old male driver of the second vehicle died at the scene. Three passengers in the second car have been transported to Tully hospital in a stable condition. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Robbery, Nerang - Stolen fuel leads to police car damage, Strathpine - Robbery with violence, Sunnybank - Double fatal, Torbanlea - Attempted armed robbery, Gympie
Robbery, Nerang: About 8.25pm yesterday a man entered the Day and Night Chemist on Price Street and handed the staff a note stating he was armed and wanted drugs. The man left the store with a quantity of drugs and was last seen getting into a dark coloured sedan parked next to the nearby tennis courts. No weapon was produced and no one was injured. The offender is described as being of Caucasian appearance, in his 40s, 187cm tall, with a solid build and a moustache. He was wearing jeans, a black long-sleeved t-shirt and a dark baseball cap.

Police have charged a 49-year-old Rockhampton man with over 60 stalking related charges.

Police investigating the armed robbery of the Night Owl convenience store on Saturday morning have released security footage and stills of the offence.

Hit and run, Underwood - Fatal Accident, Boulia -
Hit and run, Underwood: Between 6.45pm and 7pm yesterday a man living on Stiller Street, Kuraby noticed his Subaru Liberty driving past his house. He ran outside and waved down a passing motorist. They gave chase to where the vehicles stopped at the intersection of Underwood and Logan Roads, Underwood. The owner of the Subaru got out of the car and tried removing the offender from the stolen vehicle. The offender reversed into the car’s owner and then into another vehicle. The offender then accelerated and struck the second man who had assisted the owner. The offender then drove off up Underwood Road through a red light. A patrolling police car noticed the Subaru disobey the red light and attempted to intercept the vehicle. A search of the vicinity located the stolen vehicle abandoned on Rothon Street, Rochedale. Police Dog Squad officers were called to the scene but were unable to locate the offender. The two injured men were transported to the PA Hospital. Their condition at this time is unknown.

Armed robbery, Wakerley: Just before 8pm yesterday, a male held up the Freedom Fuels on Greencamp Road at Wakerley. The male entered the store, produced a knife and asked the employee for money. The employee complied and handed over of sum of cash from the till. The male then left the service station on foot and headed west on New Cleveland Road. He is described as being 160cm tall, had a young voice and was wearing a red shirt, black hooded jumper, blue jeans, white shoes and black sunglasses. He had covered his face with material and also wore yellow dish washing gloves.

Suspicious house fire, Gold Coast: Police are investigating a house fire at Palm Beach last night. At 11.40pm, a neighbour observed that a house in Mallawa Drive was ablaze and raised the alarm. There were no occupants in the house at the time however the premises was totally gutted by the fire. Scientific officers will attend to conduct further investigations. The fire is being treated as suspicious until proven otherwise.

Attempted armed robbery, Pinkenba: Police are investigating an incident at Pinkenba last night where a man attempted to rob a taxi driver. About 9.30pm a taxi collected a male passenger on Kingsford Smith Drive. The male passenger instructed the female taxi driver to drive to near the Pinkenba Hotel. Upon arrival at the destination, the man demanded money and produced a screwdriver. The driver refused to hand over any cash and the man fled into the grounds of the Pinkenba State School. The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 178cm tall, of proportionate build and had a fair complexion and blonde hair.

Police are currently searching for a man on the run after being involved in two traffic accidents today.

Attempted armed robbery and theft, Nambour - Fire, Coopers Plains
Attempted armed robbery and theft, Nambour: Police are investigating three incidents in Nambour yesterday which are believed to have been committed by the same offender. At 3.20pm, a man entered the Salvation Army clothing store on Currie Street and threatened the female attendant with a screwdriver before demanding the day’s takings. The man was unable to obtain access to the till and fled empty handed. About 40 minutes later a man attempted to steal a vehicle from the carpark of the Big W store at Nambour. After failing to start the car, the man took property from the vehicle. The same man is then believed to have entered the Big W store and stolen a cash drawer. The offender is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his early to mid 20s, 180cm tall and had very short brown hair and was clean shaven. He was wearing an olive brown t-shirt with tan shorts.

Disturbance, Palm Island: Police are investigating two incidents on Palm Island last night where rocks were thrown at a police vehicle and compound. At 7.35pm police were called to a disturbance on Clumpoint Road involving a large number of youths. After speaking to some members of the crowd the police went to leave in their vehicle when rocks where thrown at the vehicle, causing minor damage. A short time later police returned to the compound where a number of rocks were thrown into the compound and barracks by youths. Investigations are continuing.

Armed robbery, Leichhardt: Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Kangaroo Fuels Service Station at Leichhardt last night. At 9.09pm, a man armed with a knife entered the store with his dog. The man demanded cash from the 18-year-old female attendant and was given a small sum of money before fleeing the service station. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late teens, 180cm tall, of medium build and had a tanned complexion. He was wearing blue three-quarter length pants, a white shirt and a silver cap. His dog was brown in colour.
