Eagle Boys armed robbery arrest, Fortitude Valley

Police have arrested a 20-year-old man for the armed robbery of the Fortitude Valley Eagle Boys Pizza this afternoon.

The man, who was in the company of an acquaintance at the time of the offence, allegedly approached a female employee about 2pm in Martin Street as she was taking the day’s takings to the bank.

The two men allegedly grabbed the woman and money causing her to fall to the ground. She suffered cuts to her fingers and knees as a result of a scuffle with the two males.

A good Samaritan who witnessed the incident gave chase and alerted nearby police who continued to chase the offender. Police apprehended one of the men and also managed to recover the money. He will appear at the Brisbane Magistrates court in the morning.

Investigations are still continuing in relation to identifying and locating the second man.

Anyone who has any information to offer police should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
