Armed robbery, Zillmere - footage: Investigators have released footage of an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven store in Zillmere on February 6. At 11.14pm a man entered the convenience store on Zillmere Road armed with a machete. The man left the store with cash and a packet of cigarettes and headed north on Hanford Road. He is described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander appearance, around 25 years old, approximately 170cms tall and of medium build. He was wearing a black long sleeved shirt, black shorts, a white baseball cap and a pair of thongs.
Bomb hoax charges – Bundamba: A 35-year-old Blackstone man has been charged after police were notified that a bomb was located in Queens Street, Blackstone. Around 1.15am today the Triple zero call was received by the Police Communications Centre (PCC) at Ipswich notifying of the threat. PCC staff liaised with the local Safe City Camera room and a short time later police located a man in Bundamba. The man has been charged with make bomb hoax and possess dangerous drug. He has been released on bail and will appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court on March 1.
Armed robbery arrests, Fortitude Valley: A 28-year-old Windsor man has been charged with two separate armed robberies of convenience stores in Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley. The first offence occurred on Monday, February 5 at the 7- Eleven store when the man allegedly produced what appeared to be a blood filled syringe and demanded money. He was given some cash and left the store. The man was arrested the following day and appeared in court on February 7 charged with armed robbery. He was given bail at 1pm. The second offence occurred at the IGA store about 7.30pm on February 7 when the man allegedly threatened the attendant with a knife while demanding money. The attendant chased the man out of the store while calling police on his mobile. Police located the man a short distance away and he was placed under arrest. He will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
