Ultralight crash, Oak Valley

Two men are believed to have died in an Ultralight aircraft crash at Oak Valley, southwest of Townsville this morning.

Around 8.50am a witness saw the aircraft attempt a turn, when the motor was heard to increase in revolutions and then cut-out. The Ultralight has then spiraled to the ground.

An extensive ground search was commenced by police with air support from local Ultralight operators.

An Ultralight located the aircraft around 10am and guided ground crews to the wreckage that was semi-submerged in a creek.

Police and the Australian Ultralight Association are investigating the incident.

Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
