Constable Brett Irwin had served just over 12 months with the Queensland Police Service before his tragic death at Keperra last night. Constable Irwin, 33, and his partner, also a male Constable, attended a home in Keperra about 10.50 last night. Constable Irwin, who was inducted into the Queensland Police Service in 2006, was fatally wounded.

A male police officer in his thirties has died at Keperra on Brisbane's northside overnight. Two officers went to a Keperra address about 10.50pm last night to speak to a man about a warrant for breaching bail conditions. Shortly after arriving at the address, one of the police officers was shot and fatally wounded.
