Rape charges, Koongal (North Rockhampton): Police have charged a juvenile male with rape following an incident at Koongal yesterday. It is alleged a 27-year-old woman was raped while she slept at a Harbourne Street address about 5.30am yesterday. Police yesterday arrested a 16-year-old male at a Koongal address and later charged him with one count of rape to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on June 16.
Stolen jewellery, Maroochydore: Police are appealing for witnesses who may have information about a large quantity of jewellery, bank notes, coins and gem stones which were stolen from a jewellery store, Christian Siebert Jewellers on Ocean Street, Maroochydore between 4pm and midnight on May 24. The unknown offenders gained entry by smashing a series of high louvers and forcing a security bar at the front of the store.
Serious Assault, Mackay: Police attended a house on Rankin Court at Armstrong Beach at 2.50 this morning, after attending earlier in the evening on two occasions due to noise complaints. A 27-year-old man had previously been issued a Noise Abatement Direction, but refused to cooperate. As police arrested him he allegedly struggled violently, police used OC spray and were wrestling with the offender when a 32-year-old female allegedly started hosing water in the officers’ faces. The woman also allegedly wrestled with one of the officers and tried to strike him. During the incident the women also went inside and allegedly came out with a knife, eventually she was convinced to drop it, allowing police to arrest her. The man has been charged with three counts of assault police and one count of contravene direction. The woman was charged with two counts of assault police and two counts of wilful damage.
Marine Incident, Warana Beach: Police are seeking public assistance in trying to locate a man and a teenage girl who may be able to assist them with enquiries regarding a vessel that was left on Warana Beach on Friday morning, May 23. The male is described as 35-years-old, Caucasian, 170cm with an average build and blonde hair. The teenager is described as 15-years-old, Caucasian, 145cm with a slim build and brown hair.
