Fatal crash, Bundaberg: A 79-year-old woman has died after a single vehicle crash that occurred south of Bundaberg this afternoon. Around 2.50pm the vehicle that was travelling north on Goodwood Road crashed into a guard rail near the intersection with Coonarr Road. The 79-year-old female passenger of the vehicle died at the scene and the 79-year-old male driver was transported to the Bundaberg Base Hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. Police from the Forensic Crash Unit are investigating.

Marine incident – Coochiemudlo Island: Police have located a 33-year-old man who was reported missing from a 3.5 metre tinny that had been swamped or sunk at Banana Banks, off the north-eastern tip of Coochiemudlo Island this afternoon. At 3pm police were notified of the incident that occurred around 1.30pm by the second occupant of the boat who is also a 33-year-old man after he made it to the island. The man notified that he had last seen the missing man about 2.30pm clutching to a fuel tank in the water. Water police vessels, Volunteer marine vessels and the Careflight Helicopter were used to search for the 33-year-old missing man who was located around 3.35pm near the northern tip of Coochiemudlo Island. Water police transported the men to Victoria Point where they were taken to the Redlands Hospital by the Queensland Ambulance Service for observation.

Drug Charges, Yeppoon: Police have charged a 39-year-old man after the alleged discovery of items at an address in Yeppoon on May 24. Around 5pm police executed a search warrant at the Hidden Valley Road address where they allegedly located the items. The man has been charged with one count each of possession of a prohibited combination of items, possessing relevant substances or things, possessing things for use in the commission of a crime and unlawful possession of weapons. He has been released on bail and will appear in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on July 3.
