Search for missing tourists, Mt Garnet: Police have suspended the search for the missing tourists until first light in the morning. Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the blue Hyundai Getz or the Japanese occupants today. Police would especially like to hear from a man in a 4WD who told the group that they were on a road to Mt Garnet. This man is possibly the last person to see the group before they got stuck in a washout around 1pm. Anyone with information should contact Mareeba police on 4030 3300 or Crime stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Robbery in company arrest, Kedron: Two men aged 20 and 19 will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow charged with robbery in company. Around 3.55 this morning an 18-year old man was walking along Gympie Road and Kedron when a car pulled up beside him and asked him if he wanted a lift. He declined and the rear passenger allegedly held up a crow bar and told the man to hand over his money. The man handed over an amount of cash and the car drove off. The man reported the incident to police and provided a description of the four men and the car. As a result of investigations police attended a Carseldine address this morning and located two of the men. Investigations are ongoing to locate the other two men.
