Serious traffic incident, Kin Kora (Gladstone): Police are investigating a tragic traffic incident that has left a four-year-old boy suffering serious injuries. Around 3.10pm a woman was pushing a trolley towards the undercover car park at the Stocklands Shopping Centre at Kin Kora with her four-year old son. It appears that the child has either walked or run behind his mother and under the wheels of a four-wheel drive vehicle that was turning into the same carpark. Initially the driver was unaware that he had run over the child until told by others in the car park. The child is being transported to Brisbane for treatment to head injuries.

Arrest after stabbing, Townsville: A 37-year-old woman will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court tomorrow charged with grievous bodily harm. Around 1.30 this afternoon a group of people were drinking in Hanran Park when an argument occurred between a man and a woman. The woman is alleged to have stabbed the man in the chest with a sharp implement. He was taken to the Townsville Hospital where he is undergoing surgery.
Serious assault police arrest, Blackwater: A 34-year-old Blackwater man will appear in the Emerald Magistrates Court tomorrow charged with serious assault police and obstruct police. Around 6.50 this evening police were called to a house on Gidyea Street, Blackwater to remove a man who was allegedly intoxicated and refusing to leave. While the officers were removing the man he has allegedly become extremely agitated and punched the female officer in the forehead and right cheek causing her to stumble backwards. The other officer was forced to use OC spray to subdue the man before he was able to be restrained. The officer received swelling and bruising to her forehead and cheek. She was treated at the Blackwater Hospital and released.
Unlawful use arrest, Chermside: A 34-year-old Margate man will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and trespass. The arrest follows an incident at 11 this morning at the Chermside Shopping Centre when the man allegedly stole the keys from a woman as she was taking her baby from her car. The man then allegedly tried unsuccessfully to steal another car a short distance away before fleeing. He was located a short time later in Northgate.
