Fatal, Tarragindi: A 17-year-old man was killed and his 18-year-old passenger was seriously injured in a single vehicle crash at Tarragindi last night. The men were driving along Fernvale Road around 10.50pm when the vehicle lost control just before the intersection of Lawrie Street and collided with a tree. The 17-year-old driver died at the scene. The 18-year-old was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with suspected head injuries. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Armed robbery, Toowoomba: A man armed with a knife robbed the Pacific Fuels Service Station at Toowoomba last night. About 8pm a man entered the service station on Perth Street wearing a balaclava and carrying a knife. The man demanded money from the male employee before jumping the counter threatening the employee with the knife and again demanding money. The offender was given a quantity of money before running from the scene. The offender was wearing dark clothing and a balaclava.
Armed robbery, Kallangur: About 8.30pm last night a male employee of Super Cheap Autos on Anzac Avenue at Kallangur was approached by two men as he put out the rubbish. One offender put the employee into a headlock and threatened him with a knife before taking him back into the store. The second man demanded cash, and a female employee complied and the two fled. The men were both wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered, but one is described as having a slim build, approximately 183cms tall and in his mid 20s.
Armed robbery, Moorooka: A man armed with a syringe entered the Liquor Legends Bottle Shop on Beaudesert Road at Moorooka last night, threatened the female employee and demanded cash. She complied and the man left the store and was last seen on Beaudesert Road. He is described as being Caucasian, approximately 175cms tall in his mid 20s to early 30s, with a solid build and brown hair. He was wearing a dark hooded jacket and ¾ length pants.

Assault charge, City: Two boys were charged following the assault of two 17-year-old men in the City last night. It is alleged the men were approached by a group of males around 10pm who spat on them and punched and kicked them. One man received a dislocated shoulder and facial injuries including a broken nose, and the second man also received facial injuries and lost a tooth. Police located the group of males a short time later on Victoria Bridge. The boys, a 16-year-old from Raceview and a 15-year-old from One Mile, were both given a notice to appear for assault occasioning bodily harm. Investigations are continuing.
Deprivation of liberty charges, Carina: Two men will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today charged with the assault of three people at Carina on Wednesday night. It is alleged the men entered a residence on Rembrandt Street, fired shots and assaulted two women and a man. The two, a 36-year-old man from East Brisbane and a 29-year-old man from Mt Gravatt, were arrested last night and charged with three counts each of deprivation of liberty and assault occasioning bodily harm, and one count each of threatening violence and burglary with violence. The younger man was also charged with possession of a dangerous drug.
Robbery charges, Kingston: Investigating officers charged a 34-year-old man yesterday after two men were robbed and assaulted in their homes at Kingston. It is alleged the 34-year-old Kingston man attended a unit block on Kingston Road around 12.45pm and demanded alcohol from a 79-year-old man and threatened him with a knife. He allegedly followed the man into his unit, pushed him to the ground and stole his DVD player. Police attended and a short time later also located a 69-year-old man in a separate unit with facial injuries and personal items and cash stolen. He was taken to Logan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The 34-year-old was charged with two counts of enter a dwelling with intent, and one count each of robbery with violence while armed, robbery with actual violence, producing a dangerous drug and possessing a utensil. He will appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
