Operation Golf Cyclone

Operation Golf Cyclone, targeting Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs in the North Coast Region has resulted in 14 people being charged with 31 offences in the last two days.

The operation has been a joint crack-down involving officers from the local region and State Crime Operations Task Force Hydra.

A number of search warrants were executed in the Sunshine Coast and Maryborough Districts this morning as part of the ongoing operation to target places of interest in relation to the Black Uhlans, Gypsy Jokers and Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs.

Searches that were conducted in Maryborough resulted in action being commenced against eight people on 14 charges following the seizure of cannabis, ecstasy, amphetamines and cash.

Warrants executed on the Sunshine Coast have resulted in action being commenced against six people on 17 charges following the seizure of cannabis, ecstasy and amphetamines.

A search of a property in Palmwoods by Taskforce Hydra detectives on May 15 resulted in the seizure of more than 1.5 kilograms of a substance believed to be amphetamines and more than 1 kilogram of cannabis.

All offenders will be appearing at Maroochydore, Noosa or Maryborough Courts in early June.

North Coast Region Acting Chief Superintendent Allan Bourke said that officers within the Region will continue to target organised crime in the region.

“Today’s searches demonstrate the ongoing strong commitment in the region to address the illegal activities of Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs in the region.”

“Officers will continue to target organised crime within the region to ensure the safety for all residents,” Acting Chief Superintendent Bourke said.
