Overnight roundup third edition

Man critical after falling from ute, Bundaberg: Police are investigating a single vehicle traffic incident that has resulted in a 17-year-old man receiving critical injuries.  Around 11.15pm on Friday May 9, four men were travelling in a ute along Baillies Road at Moorlands.  Initial investigations suggest that the injured man was seated in the back of the ute with another 17-year-old man.  The 17-year-old male driver along with a 16-year-old male passenger was in the front of the ute.  It appears the ute travelled over a bump in the road causing the man to fall from the back tray area.  When the driver became aware of the incident he returned to find the man unresponsive on the roadway.  His friends transported him in the ute to the Bundaberg Hospital where he was transferred to the Royal Brisbane Hospital suffering serious head injuries.  His condition is listed as serious.  Police were not alerted to the incident until May 12.  The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
