85-year-old targeted for $5000 fraud

Norman ParkPolice are urging the community to beware in the wake of a fraud offender targeting elderly and vulnerable victims.

 

Morningside CIB detectives are seeking assistance in identifying a man who approached an 85-year-old Norman Park woman at her home on June 27 and convinced her she owed him $5000 for the repair of her roof.

 

The woman had not had any recent repairs done.

 

The man then went with the woman to her bank in a taxi and waited while she withdrew the money.

 

Police have released an image of a man and wish to speak to him as he may be able to assist with this investigation.

 

Police describe the man as about 43-years-old, solid build.
