Fatal, Townsville: A 65-year-old man is currently assisting police with their investigations into a fatal traffic crash at Hermit Park this morning. Around 8.20 a sedan collided with a motorcycle on the intersection of Charters Towers Road and Boundary Street. The 38-year-old male motorcyclist was taken to the Townsville Base Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The sedan continued along Charters Towers Road and collided with another sedan near the intersection of Oxford Street. The crash killed an 18-year-old woman in the second sedan and seriously injured another occupant in the vehicle, a 22-year-old woman. She is currently in the Townsville Base Hospital undergoing surgery. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating. Anyone who witnessed the two crashes is asked to call Townsville police on 4759 9705.

Two vehicles impounded at Pine Rivers:  Two vehicles have been impounded for 48 hours under type 1 hooning legislation following an incident at Mango Hill yesterday.  Police from Pine Rivers District Traffic Branch intercepted the two vehicles allegedly travelling side by side at speeds in excess of 130km/h in an 80km zone along Anzac Avenue.  The vehicles were intercepted without incident.  The driver of one vehicle, a 20-year-old man from North Lakes, was the holder of a P1 licence and the other driver, a 20-year-old man from Deception Bay, was allegedly driving whilst unaccompanied on a learners permit.

Sudden death non-suspicious, Ayr: The death of a 56-year-old Ayr woman has been determined to be non-suspicious. The woman drove to Ayr Hospital on July 4 after chest pain. A post mortem examination has been completed and the woman’s death is considered non-suspicious.

Child sex offences, Logan: A 58-year-old Woodridge man has been charged with 33 counts of indecently dealing with a child. The man has allegedly sexually assaulted five young girls between July 2005 and June 2008. Logan detectives located and charged the man about 4pm on Friday. He has been remanded in custody to re-appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.

Footage released of Brisbane robbery: Investigations are continuing into the robbery of the Brisbane Vintage Watches in the Brisbane Arcade on Thursday. Around 1.30pm an employee attended a bank to withdraw cash. As he returned to work, he was followed by a woman who then stood outside the business with a man. They entered the business. A short time later two other accomplices arrived, another man and a woman. One couple distracted staff while the other couple went behind the counter and stole a large sum of cash.  The couples left the store. The men are described as having tanned complexions, the women fair. They have accents and are possibly South American. Footage has now been released of the four people police believe can assist them with their investigations. Photos and vision are available from Police Media on 3015 2444.
