Burglary with violence charges, Beenleigh: Police have charged three juvenile males and a juvenile female after an incident in Beenleigh yesterday. Around 5pm it is alleged that the group knocked on the front door of a house in Narraport Crescent, Beenleigh and pushed the 47-year-old female occupant to the ground. The group allegedly pinned the woman to the floor and then proceeded to remove items of property from the house before leaving. The group were detained a short time later and have each been charged with burglary with violence, stealing and deprivation of liberty. Bail was objected to and they will appear in Beenleigh Children’s Court on July 21.
House fire, Eagleby: A house was extensively damaged in a fire that occurred at Eagleby last night. Around 6.50 police attended the address in Olympic Court, Eagleby after reports of the fire. The scene was guarded overnight and will be examined by officers from the Scientific Section today to determine the cause of the blaze. Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Evade police, Gympie: A 40-year-old man will appear in Gympie Magistrates Court after an incident in Gympie last night. Around 9.10 officers observed a car traveling on Stewart Street, Gympie that was allegedly speeding. Officers attempted to intercept the car however they lost sight of it. It is alleged that the same vehicle was observed driving in a dangerous manner and speeding in Monkland a short time later. The car stopped and the driver allegedly became aggressive towards the officers. Police used capsicum spray to subdue the man. He has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, driving whilst disqualified, obstruct police and evade police. Bail has been refused and he will appear in court tomorrow.
