Operation Congo, Whitsunday Division

Police from the Whitsunday Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are seeking assistance from the community in relation to the detection and prosecution of drug offenders in the Whitsunday and Proserpine areas.

Operation Congo is an intelligence based operation that encourages the community to actively take part by contacting the Whitsunday Police or Crime Stoppers and report suspected drug activity in their areas.

Whitsunday CIB Officer in Charge, Detective Sergeant Brad Hallet, said, “The Whitsunday CIB works in synergy with the local community to investigate and prosecute criminal offenders and to develop strategies to prevent further offences.

“Operation Congo provides another opportunity where community members can actively assist police anonymously. “

Anyone with information in relation to drug or criminal offences in the Whitsunday or Proserpine areas can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and quote Operation CONGO before giving information.
