Morning Round-up second edition

Armed robbery, Aspley: Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery last night at a pizza store. About 11pm, three men entered the Gympie Road store, two of them in the possession of knives. A delivery driver was threatened and demands were made for him to open the cash register. He was unable to assist so the men located the manager at the rear of the shop before the trio left with a sum of cash along Wynford Street. The three are described as about 24-years-old, between 170 and 178 centimetres tall, wearing dark coloured trousers, dark hooded jumper, balaclava and gloves. Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Serious assault, St Lucia: A 39-year-old Inala man has been issued with a notice to appear for assault after an incident at an AFL game in St Lucia yesterday afternoon. Around 3.40pm an on field player was injured and it is alleged a verbal altercation followed between an official and spectator. It is then alleged the 61-year-old spectator was punched in the mouth, causing him to land on the ground. He was transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital for treatment and later released. The 39-year-old man is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on April 20.

Arson charge, Rockhampton: A 29-year-old man has been charged with one count of arson after a fire at a shed in Rockhampton overnight. Investigations into the incident are continuing and the 29-year-old man will appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.
