Armed robbery arrest, Chermside: Two youths are due to appear in the Brisbane Children’s Court tomorrow charged with armed robbery after they allegedly stole a quantity of cash and cigarettes from a Chermside convenience store this afternoon. Around 3pm the boys entered the Basnett Street shop and allegedly threatened two staff members with knives before fleeing on foot. Police patrols located two youths a short time later in nearby Craigslea, with the pair being arrested following a short foot pursuit. The duo, aged 15 and 16, have each been charged with two counts of armed robbery in company. No one was injured during the incident.

Accessory after the fact arrests, Gladstone: Gladstone detectives tonight charged two local women with being accessories after the fact to armed robbery following three recent armed robberies in the Rockhampton and Gladstone areas. A third person, a Gladstone man, is assisting police with their inquiries. The women, aged 31 and 35, are due to appear in Gladstone Magistrates Court on April 16. The armed robberies allegedly occurred at a North Rockhampton Pizza Hut on Saturday evening and at two petrol stations on Sunday morning, one in Rockhampton and one in Gladstone.
