Robbery with violence arrest, Eight Mile Plains: A 19-year-old Inala man has been charged with robbery with violence after an incident on Holmead Road, Eight Mile Plains last night. At 10.15pm the victim was near his car on the street when a man allegedly approached him and assaulted him by punching him in the face and head several times. The victim's laptop was allegedly taken by the man who left on foot. Police will allege that they searched a house on Holmead Road where they located the man and the allegedly stolen property. The man will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning. The Queensland Ambulance Service transported the man to the Princess Alexander Hospital where he was treated for cuts and bruising to his face and damage to his teeth.
Double fatal crash, Bundaberg Gin Gin Road: Two people are confirmed deceased following a two vehicle crash on the Bundaberg Gin Gin Road around 2.20pm today. The two deceased were travelling in one vehicle and two others were initially trapped in another vehicle. The two injured people were freed from the vehicle by emergency services personnel. A man is being transported to Bundaberg Base Hospital and a female is being airlifted to an undisclosed location for treatment. Motorists are advised to avoid the area as traffic congestion is expected whilst the investigation of the scene and clearing of the vehicles takes place.
