Afternoon Round-up

Armed robbery, Kedron: Police are appealing for information from the public following an armed robbery at the Freedom Fuel Service station at Kedron early this morning. Around 3.45am a man entered the service station on Gympie Road and approached the male employee. The man produced a knife and demanded cash and cigarettes. He then left the store with a sum of cash and was last seen travelling south along Gympie Road. The man is described as aged in his early 20’s, Caucasian appearance, around 180cm tall, of a slim build and wearing a dark blue hooded jumper, long pants, white shoes and carrying a backpack. Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Fatal crash, Gordon Park: Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the circumstances of a fatal crash which occurred at Gordon Park about 12.20pm today. The crash occurred when a motorcycle and a station wagon collided at the intersection of Richmond and Haig streets. The male motorcycle rider, aged in his 60’s, died at the scene. The female driver and sole occupant of the station wagon suffered shock. Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
