Rape charges, Wynnum West: A man has been charged in relation to an incident at Wynnum West last night during which a girl was allegedly raped. The teenage victim was allegedly raped by a man at a residence on Plaza Street about 11.30pm. A 31-year-old Wynnum West man is due to appear in the Wynnum Magistrates Court on Monday on one count each of rape, deprivation of liberty, incest and unlawful sodomy.

Car verses pedestrian crash, Surfers Paradise: Police are appealing for witnesses to a traffic crash that left a 22-year-old man with serious injuries. It is believed the incident occurred at the intersection of Ferny Avenue and Palm Avenue around 1am and involved a silver Holden Rodeo utility. The vehicle involved in the incident was seized and the Forensic Crash Unit is investigating. Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact their local police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Stabbing, Broadbeach: A 40-year-old man suffered a stab wound to the neck while walking home from Broadbeach in the early hours of this morning. Initial investigations suggest the assault occurred between 1am and 3am on the Gold Coast Highway between Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise. It is believed the man walked home to his Surfers Paradise apartment and went to bed before seeking medical treatment this morning for a deep wound to his neck. He is being treated at the Gold Coast Hospital and his injuries are not considered life threatening. Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area.
