Pharmacy burglary, Redland Bay: Police are investigating the burglary of a pharmacy on Donald Road at Redland Bay this morning. Around 4am it appears offenders have smashed the front glass window of the store and stolen a quantity of cold and flu tablets and several other medications. Any one who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area or has information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police officer assaulted, Rockhampton: A police officer was allegedly punched in the face while arresting a man at north Rockhampton this morning. Around 2.20 police officers were attempting to arrest a 27-year-old man when he allegedly became violent and aggressive. The man allegedly struggled with police and then punched a Constable on the left side of his face. Police were able to use OC spray and subdue the man long enough to arrest him. After being placed in the police car the man allegedly continued to be aggressive and kicked the rear door and window causing damage. The police officer was taken to Rockhampton Hospital for treatment. The 27-year-old was charged with serious assault on a police officer, public nuisance, obstruct police and wilful damage to police property. He is due to face Rockhampton Magistrates Court July 7.

Armed robbery, Burleigh Waters: Police are investigating an armed robbery at Burleigh Waters today. Around 1am a 17-year-old man was walking along Christine Avenue when he was approached by a car with two men inside. The men exited their vehicle and approached the 17-year-old. Each man produced a knife and demanded the17-year-old’s personal belongings. He complied and the men fled on foot back to their car. Offender one is described as being 175cm, wearing a grey hooded jumper and long pants. Offender two is described as being Caucasian, blonde hair, 180cm with average build. He was wearing black hooded jumper and black pants. Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Burglary, Belmont: Police are investigating a burglary at a residence on Hillcroft Place at Belmont this morning. Around 2am the resident awoke to find two men and a woman in the process of stealing his car out of his garage. As the car reversed the man gave chase, but appears to have been struck by the offenders with the vehicle injuring his ankle. The man was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with a suspected dislocated ankle. Police are asking for any one who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or saw three people driving a black 2007 Nissan Maxima around the time of the incident.
