Appeal for public assistance, Mareeba
Further to information released by Corrective Services, police are urging any person who has any information in relation to a 24-year-old man who absconded from a Mareeba correctional facility today, to immediately contact their local police station, call triple zero or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The man is described as approximately 178 cm tall, about 75 kg with a slim build, brown eyes, short brown hair (a number three cut), fair complexion, with a goatee and a moustache which is short and stubbly.
The man is also described as having a 6cm scar on his right forearm and may be wearing brown coloured clothing but this cannot be confirmed.
Police are also searching for a White Toyota Hilux Utility with Queensland registration plate number 995-FHK which has a canopy on the rear and was stolen from the Mareeba area overnight.
Police are advising the public not to approach the man and to advise police immediately.
