Morning Round-up - Third Edition
Fatal crash, Miles: A woman has been killed in a single vehicle crash at Miles this morning. Around 8.20am police were notified of the crash on the Warrego Highway around 10kms east of Miles. Preliminary investigations suggest the vehicle rolled. Two children in the vehicle have been transported to Miles Hospital with minor injuries. Police are still at the scene of the crash and delays are expected in the area. Further details will be released as they become available.
House fire, Zillmere: Police are investigating a non-suspicious house fire which occurred at Zillmere overnight. Around 3am police attended the scene of the fire at an address on Gledson Street and found the house alight. Several occupants in the house were transported to hospital for treatment. Police are not treating the fire as suspicious.
Armed robbery, Eli Waters (Torquay): Police are investigating the armed robbery of a video store at the Eli Waters Shopping Centre last night. A man entered the store around 8.45pm armed with a knife and what appeared to be a baton. He demanded money from the till and the store attendant handed over a sum of cash before the man left on foot. He proceeded to walked past the front entrance to the shopping complex before leaving in an unknown direction. The man was wearing a hooded jacket and with a bandanna wrapped around most of his face. He is believed to be Caucasian, in his early twenties, approximately 165cm tall and of a slim build. No one was injured during the robbery.
