Suspicious fire, Ravenshoe: Police are appealing for information following a suspicious fire at Ravenshoe earlier this year. Around 12.40am on Saturday April 12 a fire destroyed a two level heritage styled building on Moore Street. Police are continuing to investigate the fire and are appealing for anyone who may have information about the fire to come forward. Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Rock throwers, Yeppoon: Police would like to speak to anyone who saw a group of youths throwing rocks onto the Scenic Highway, Yeppoon on Saturday night. At 10pm three cars were struck by rocks as they were driving along the highway at Yeppoon in central Queensland. The vehicles were damaged by the rocks, fortunately no one was injured. Police suspect that other motorists may have seen the youths and could assist police with further descriptions of the offenders. Local police including plain clothes officers in unmarked cars will be patrolling the area over the school holidays. Investigations into the rock throwing and damage to the cars are continuing. Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Update – Double fatal, Mundubbera: Two children aged under five died in a single vehicle crash at Mundubbera this morning. The brother and sister were travelling in a four wheel drive station wagon with their mother and another sibling on Durong Road. The four wheel drive crashed and rolled at 9.45am. The female driver, in her 20s from Dalby and her son were taken to hospital for treatment. The forensic crash unit is investigating.
