Update fatal crash Edmonton
Updated information has become available into the circumstances of a double fatal at Edmonton this afternoon.
Around 4.05pm a head-on crash occurred just south of Wrights Creek on the Bruce Highway, south of Edmonton.
Witnesses have advised police that a Ford Falcon containing a 38-year-old female driver, a three-year-old girl and a six-year-old boy was travelling south on the Bruce Highway when it moved on to the incorrect side of the road colliding with a Toyota sedan. The collision caused a minor deflection and the ford then collided head on into a Peugeot sedan.
The woman and the three-year-old girl received critical injuries; the six-year-old boy is suffering from serious injuries.
The Peugeot was being driven by a 36-year-old woman who received serious injuries. Her passengers a 72-year-old woman and a 69-year-old man both died as a result of the crash and a five-year-old girl received serious injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
