Evening Round-up
Fatal traffic incident, Sunnybank Hills: A woman believed to be in her 70’s was killed this evening after she was hit by a vehicle at Sunnybank Hills. Around 5.15pm it is believed the woman may have got off a bus and attempted to cross Calam Road before being hit. The woman died at the scene and driver of the vehicle was uninjured. Police Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Armed robbery, Crestmead: Police are investigating an armed robbery tonight at a shop on Waratah Drive at Crestmead. Around 7.35 a man entered the store with what appeared to be a sharp object and demanded money from the attendant. The attendant complied and the man fled on foot with a sum of cash. The man is described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, around 180cm with a solid build, believed to be in his late 30’s and had a goatee beard. He was wearing glasses, green hooded shirt and light green board shorts with stripes. Drug charges, Bucca (Bundaberg): Police have charged a 55-year-old man with several drug related offences after a raid at an address at Bucca today. Around 8am police executed a search warrant and allegedly located a large cannabis plantation as well as other related cultivation equipment. The man has been charged with producing dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing property used in connection with a crime and possessing drug utensils. He is due to face Bundaberg Magistrates Court on July 1.
