Morning round up

Assault and robbery, Nerang: Police are investigating the assault of four men last night at a restaurant at Earle Plaza in Nerang. Around 6.30pm a group of five men who were walking by an alfresco section of the restaurant allegedly took a water bottle off a table, which a family was sitting at out the front. A male victim from inside the shop saw the incident and went outside to assist when he was set upon by the offenders. Two further men went outside the store to assist; they too were assaulted. A passer-by who saw the altercation attempted to call police and was attacked. The first three victims, aged 37 (x2) and 33, sustained bruising and cuts to their faces. The passer-by, aged 52, sustained a suspected broken nose and swelling to his head and his belongings were stolen. The five offenders then fled the scene. Armed robbery, Wynnum West: Police are investigating an armed robbery at a liquor store at Wynnum West last night. Around 6.10pm a man walked in the store on West Avenue and produced a home made sharp object. He demanded cash from the attendant who complied. The man fled on foot with cash towards Worthing Street. The man is described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island in appearance, solid build and is believed to be in his 30’s. He was wearing ¾ length shorts, checked grey/white jacket with a beanie and sunglasses. Robbery charges, Browns Plains: Police have charged a 20-year-old woman and four juveniles after an incident at Browns Plains on June 29. Around 9.45pm a 41-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were walking along Browns Plains Road when it is alleged they were robbed and assaulted by a group of people. The 20-year-old woman was charged with robbery in company, attempted robbery in company and stealing. She is due to face Beenleigh Magistrates Court today. The four juveniles aged 13, 14, 14 and15 will be dealt with under the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act.
