Missing man located after suspicious house fire, Cooyar: Police have located a man who was reported missing after a suspicious house fire at Cooyar on Tuesday night. Around 10.15pm on June 30 police were notified of a house fire on Munro Street and attended the scene. At the time of the incident, the sole male occupant of the house could not be located. The man attended the Cooyar Police Station last night and advised police he was safe and well. Investigations into the fire are continuing and the fire is being treated as suspicious. Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Suspicious vehicle fire, Burua (Gladstone): Police are appealing for witnesses following a suspicious vehicle fire overnight. Around 6pm the male owner of the vehicle ran out of fuel and parked the Ford Ranger at the side of the Dawson Highway near Gehrky Road, Burua. Between the hours of 2.45 and 3am, the vehicle ignited, causing extensive damage to the cab and the front of the tray, destroying the vehicle. Initial investigations indicate that the fire was deliberately lit. Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious around this time to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
