His car was seized and police will make an application for its forfeiture.
Serious crash, Labrador: A 78-year-old man is in a critical condition in the Gold Coast Hospital after a single vehicle crash at Labrador today. Around 1.50pm a Volvo sedan was travelling east on Brisbane Rd Labrador when it was seen to veer across the road over the median strip across two westbound lanes before coming to rest at the bottom of an embankment. The driver and sole occupant was trapped in the car and had to be released by fire officers. He was taken to the Gold Coast Hospital in a critical condition. Police are investigating the possibility that the man may have suffered from a medical condition just prior to the crash.
