Morning round-up second edition
Attempted armed robbery, Banyo: Police are searching for three men who attempted to rob a Banyo bowls club last evening. Around 11pm two men, one armed with a firearm and the other with a hammer, have entered the Froude Street club and demanded cash from two female employees. The women fled to a bar area and activated an audible alarm. A third unarmed man has then entered the club and the three men fled empty handed. The man carrying the firearm was wearing a white jumper, grey pants and white sneakers. The second man was wearing a white jacket with black sleeves and black pants with white stripes. The third man was wearing dark clothing with white stripes down the side. Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Assault, Yeppoon: Police are investigating the assault of a couple on Chrisney Street at Cooee Bay, Yeppoon today. Around 5am a 58-year-old woman woke to a loud bang and her dog barking. The woman let her dog outside through a sliding glass door. Upon returning to the house she was approached by a man who pushed open the door and knocked the woman over. The offender then walked into a bedroom where he assaulted her 60-year-old husband. The man left empty-handed. The man is described as 193cm tall, with a solid build wearing a dark coloured tracksuit, a black beanie and a stocking over his head.
