Fatal traffic incident, Willawong: A man in his 40’s has been killed after a fatal traffic incident at Willawong last night. Around 9pm it is believed the man has been struck by a vehicle whilst crossing King Avenue. It is believed the driver was not injured, but was treated for shock. Police Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Armed robbery, Kedron: Police are investigating an armed robbery at a food store at Kedron last night. Around 9.40 three men, one armed with a knife, entered the Gympie Road store and approached the attendant. They demanded money be put in a black back pack and the attendant complied. The men then fled the store on foot in an easterly direction along Castle Street. All three men were described as being around 175cm with a slim build. Suspect one was wearing black hooded jumper, white shirt wrapped around his face, black pants and white shoes. Suspect two was wearing a blue hooded jumper and dark trousers. Suspect three was wearing a black jumper, white shirt wrapped around his face and black pants. Burglary, Berserker (Rockhampton): Police are investigating a burglary at Northside Plaza at Berserker last night. Around 11.55 it is believed two offenders, wearing black hooded jackets, have forced entry into a jewellery store and stolen a large quantity of jewellery. A few minutes later a red Subura WRX (QLD rego NMM85) was stolen from nearby Charles Street. Anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around the shopping centre or has seen the stolen vehicle are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Assault and robbery charges, Yeppoon (Rockhampton): Police have charged a 37-year-old man after an incident in Cooee Bay at Yeppoon on June 29. Around 7.40pm the man allegedly robbed and assaulted attendants from a video store at the Cedar Park Shopping Centre. The man then allegedly held a knife to the attendants and drove with them to an ATM on Glenmore Road at North Rockhampton to then steal more money. The man then allegedly stole the car they were in and fled the scene. The Yeppoon man has been charged with two counts each of assault occasioning bodily harm and deprivation of liberty, one count each of enter premises with intent, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle with intent, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and robbery with violence. He is due to face Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.
