Woman charged – escape custody, Brisbane: A 31-year-old woman will face the Brisbane Magistrates Court today on charges relating to an incident which occurred at the Brisbane Watchhouse on July 13. The woman will face one count each of false representation, fraud, escaping lawful custody and possession of tainted property.
Fatal crash, Banyo: A male motorcyclist has died following a crash at Banyo this morning. Police were notified about 4am that a car and motorcycle had collided on Nudgee Road. Nudgee Road between Approach and Tufnell roads is currently closed. Diversions are in place however motorists are urged to avoid the area if possible. Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Fatal crash, Cairns: A man in his 20s has died in hospital following a crash on the Bruce Highway at Bentley Park yesterday about 7.20am. The crash occurred approximately 270 meters south of the intersection at Robert Road. Initial information indicates the man lost control of the utility he was driving and ran off the road, into the median strip and through a concrete culvert.
