Update, missing swimmer, Rockhampton: A land and water search of areas surrounding the Fitzroy River at Rockhampton continued today for a missing 26-year-old Clermont man. The man was last seen entering the southern side of the river (Quay Street) around 2.30pm yesterday and swim halfway across the river where he began having difficulties. The search involving police, SES and Coastguard personnel and resources will continue until last light and is due to re-commence tomorrow morning around 6am.
Murder charge, Burleigh Heads: A 24-year-old Surfers Paradise man has been charged with one count each of murder and unlawful wounding in relation to a fatal shooting at Burleigh Heads on Saturday morning. The man is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
