Fatal crash, Kilkivan

A man died when his utility left the Wide Bay Highway yesterday afternoon and crashed.

At 3pm police and Emergency Services attended the Wide Bay Highway 20kms west of Kilkivan where a utility had collided with a tree.

The male driver and sole occupant of the utility died at the scene.

Initial investigations suggest the man was overtaking a number of vehicles when he lost control. His utility left the road, rolled and collided with a tree.

A number of motorists stopped and assisted the man before QAS arrived.

The forensic crash unit is investigating.
