Fatal crash, Alligator Creek (near Townsville): A teenage driver tragically died this morning following a single vehicle crash at Alligator Creek. Around 9.20am a vehicle travelling southbound on the Bruce Highway crashed killing the 18-year-old female driver and sole occupant. The highway was closed for a period of time and has now re-opened. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Correction, fire arrest, Gold Coast: A 15-year-old boy from the Gold Coast will face Southport Children's Court today charged in relation to allegedly lighting two fires at Gilston Road at Nerang on October 14, 2009.  The boy was charged by members of the Child Protection Investigation Unit last Friday October 23, 2009.   Police are still investigating a large fire which occurred at Southport on October 16, 2009.  At this stage there have been no arrests in relation to this incident and police continue to seek any information from the public about this blaze. Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously via 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au 24hrs a day.
