Update - Armed robberies, Greenslopes, Ashgrove and Aspley

Police have released footage of an armed robbery at Greenslopes two days ago, which is linked to four other similar robberies around the same time at Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Police are appealing for information from the public and believe the man pictured may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The first occurred around 1.10pm Thursday October 29 at a news agency on Kirby Road at Aspley.

A man entered the store armed with a large knife and demanded cash from the male staff member. He then left the store with a sum of cash and was last seen walking along Kirby Road and into Brassington Street.

The second occurred at 2.15pm the same day at a convenience store on Banks Street at Ashgrove.

A man entered the store armed with a large knife and demanded money from the female attendant. He then tried to open the cash register but was not successful. The man left empty handed and was last seen on foot heading east along Bands Street.

The third occurred around 3.20pm the same day at a furniture store on Logan Road at Greenslopes.

A man entered the store armed with a large knife and demanded money from the female staff member. The man then left the store with a sum of cash and was last seen heading on foot south along Logan Road.

The man is described as of South Pacific Islander or Maori appearance, around 183-188cm tall, with dark eyes. He was wearing a fluorescent work shirt, a dark piece of material wrapped around his face, dark coloured baseball cap and carrying a laptop-style bag.

Police believe the three robberies may also been linked to the robberies of two taxi drivers at Beenleigh and Helensvale early on October 29. (Refer to previous media releases).
